Auckland Extravaganza Tropical Escape Suite Impossible Card

By | 14 July 2018

At the recent Auckland Extravaganza my team, Kathryn, Nicolette, Helen and I taught the Impossible Card featuring the Tropical Escape Suite.  Last time we taught the Impossible Box, so it was fitting to carry on this theme with the Impossible Card.

Here is the card:

Here is the card looking down from the top so you can see the overall shape of the card.  The base is just made from a 10.5cm x 14.85cm piece of cardstock, but just scored and cut in a special way!

We used the Tropical Check Designer Series Paper Stack as out background paper, either with a Granny Apple Green cardstock base and Blushing Bridge matting, or the Blushing Bride base with Granny Apple Green matting.  We stamped some of the leaves in Shared Spruced and Granny Apple Green ink and a flower in Blushing Bride ink and then cut them out with the Tropical Thinlits coordinating dies.  Each card also featured two ferns cut out of Granny Apple Green cardstock.  To finish the card off, we add some of the wooden Tropical Elements embellishments.

Some people who made this card at the event said they usually wouldn’t choose to make a card featuring green, but they actually quite liked the Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce featured in this card.

Here is the back of the card which has space for you to write a message to the recipient.

Over the next few days, I will share with you the other four projects that were made at the Auckland Extravaganza event.  If you missed out on coming along in July but would like to come and take part next time, we will be holding this event on Saturday 17th November, so diary it now!  It will be a Christmas themed event.  Please email me and let me know you are interested or sign up to my mailing list and then you will be kept up to date with upcoming events as well as receive weekly emails with free tutorials, specials, inspiration, and tips.
