When card making you need to cut and score card. To create a nice crisp fold, it is best to score it first. I find the Metric Plate on the Simply Scored the best for this. Then press along the fold with your Bone Folder. And if you need to score half of that again, the Metric Plate even has a 5.25cm score line on it which is very useful when making a Z Fold Card like this. The Baby Bear Card below was also made with the Thick Whisper White cardstock and this really does need to be scored before it is folded.
Here is another tip I learned several years after preparing lots of card basees for cards. I wish I had known this a lot sooner. If you are using A4 cardstock, then score a sheet of A4 in half first at 10.5cm and then cut it in half to make two cards. That way you only need to score once for two cards! Otherwise you are double handling the card, cutting and scoring twice!
