The Gold Gilded Leafing is a wonderful way to add a gold accent to your creations. Today, for this week’s Thursday’s Tip, I am sharing two different ways that you can use it. Check out the video below too and see how it is done!
Two Ways To Adhere Gold Gilded Leafing:
Option One: Place a strip of double sided adhesive, like Tear & Tape or Seal, and adhere it on your project, Then place the Gilded Leafing over the tape and brush off the excess flakes. You will be left with a lovely strip of gold.
Option Two: Stamp an image with VersaMark ink. Apply some Heat & Stick Powder, removing the excess powder. Then heat the stamped area with a Heat Tool. Don’t heat it for too long. It should change from a white powder to a shiny colour. Work quickly and add the Gilded Leafing. Brush off the excess flakes to reveal a gold image.
Tips When Using the Gold Gilded Leafing:
- When you are not using the Gilded Leafing, I would strongly suggest that you keep the lid on. The leafing is very light and if knocked over it could create quite a mess, so it is best to keep it contained! And don’t sneeze near it either!
- When you apply it, you may like to do so inside a medium sized container so that the excess pieces fall into the container, rather than over your table or on other projects. Use a brush to remove the excess.
- When you order the Gold Gilded Leafing make sure you order some Heat & Stick powder too. That way you can apply it to a stamped project. If you don’t have VersaMark ink and a Heat Tool you will need to purchase that also.
Tomorrow I will share how I made a card which features the Gold Gilded Leafing stamped on it.
