New Horizons DSP Cards – Simple But Very Effective!

By | 14 March 2022

The New Horizons Designer Series Paper [DSP] cards look very stunning, but they are actually quite simple to make. The DSP does all the hard work for you. You just need to cut the DSP, stamp something extra onto the DSP, stamp a sentiment onto the card and then put the card together. You will see I stamped some of these cards with some birds or a tree on the DSP.

These cards were not an original idea. I saw them on Rachel Tessman’s blog. They looked great and I wanted to give them a go. I needed thank you note cards for my customers, so I made them into note cards.

Here is the DSP I used. I only used half a sheet of each in the above two cards.

The great thing with these cards is the 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP gets cut into quarters and you can make four cards from one sheet. Once I stamped on the square, I adhered it to a slightly bigger Basic Black matt. The sentiment I used was from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. As I was making multiple cards, I used the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment onto the card base. I stamped these first before I adhered the DSP and stamped piece to the card.

The images have been stamped with the trees from the Peaceful Deer stamp set.

Here are the cards stamped and adhered. The DSP I used for the cards is shown next to them.

I also made some other sets of cards:. For these I used the birds from the On the Horizon stamp set. The grass that has been stamped in Evening Evergreen is from the New Horizons stamp set.

There are only three cards in this set, rather than four, but I had already sent one away with an order.

I originally had four cards in this set, but had already given one away when I went to take this photo. The only stamping on this set of cards is the sentiment.

Why not buy a packet of the New Horizons DSP and make some of these simple, yet effective, New Horizons cards?
