Last Saturday we had the Auckland March Extravaganza 2022. It was the first one for the year in Auckland. It was held in a new location in Mangere. It was very spacious and light which was great for crafting. The guests that came made five amazing projects. They learned some new techniques and were able to use a variety of products from the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue.
The project that Sylvia Patterson and I taught was a slimline card which featured the Let’s Set Sail Bundle. The card involved some masking to create the sun. The sky and water were sponged using Blending Brushes. The sailboat stamped and punched out and vellum sails were added. Stampin’ Up! even has Slimline envelopes which we were able to use for our cards.
Jacque Williams designed this lovely card featuring the Oceanfront stamp set, New Horizons bundle and Pebbles Enamel Shapes to create this lovely beach scene. It features lots of texture and layers and uses the Timber 3D embossing folder.
This Easy Stepper Card was created by Sally Williams and Lesley Scott. It features the Ranunculus Romance bundle. The background of the card is a piece of Designer Series Paper stamped in Cinnamon Cider and a piece of Vellum placed on top to give it a softer look. The flower from the Ranunculus Romance stamp set is the focus on the front, along with the embellishments and sentiment.
This card featuring the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks was designed by Heather Stewart and Judith Ferguson. Inside is a pop up gift bag where you can place a small chocolate or gift card.
The last card is an Accordion card featuring the Honeybee Home Bundle. It was taught by Karen Hadler and inspired by Cheryl Hamilton. The card has lots of texture on the front with die-cut flower and leaves, embellishments and an embossed bellyband. When the card opens there is an accordion fold inside with die-cut circles stamped with images from the stamp set, adhered to the mountain folds.

Thanks. Yes, it would be nice if you were closer. I will do something online from time to time, so maybe you can take part that way.
