This simple sailboat card looks stunning and it isn’t too hard to make. I used the Let’s Set Sail stamp set and coordaining Sailboat Builder punch. This card is cased from Mary Brown. I adapted it to fit a note card so we could make at our Coffee & Cards class this month.
There isn’t too much stamping with this card. The words and birds are stamped in Memento black ink. The reflection in the water is stamped in Smoky Slate ink. The sailboat is punched out with the Sailboat Builder punch. The moon is cut from a piece of Silver Foil. I used a 1 3/4″ circle punch which has now retired, but you could cut a circle with the Layering Circle dies.
The sentiment on the card is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. This is a very versatile stamp set with a wonderful range of sentiments including Happy Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations etc.
If you would like to see what supplies I used, you can check it out here.
Coffee & Cards is a class I hold on the first Tuesday of each month at the Vero Café in Unsworth Heights. People of all crafting abilities are welcome. It is a nice to get together with others and enjoy crafting. The class includes a hot drink as well as making two simple cards. It is a great way to learn some new ideas and try and out new product. As it has become popular, I hold two sessions during the morning; 9:30 – 10:30am and then 10:40am – 11:40am. If you would like to come and join us at my next class, please contact me to reserve your place.
I hope you enjoyed today’s simple sailboat card and perhaps you will be able to join us at one of my future Coffee & Cards.
