The simple stamping SIP method is easy to do. Have you heard of SIP before? SIP means “stamp, ink and paper”. Paper refers to both patterned paper and cardstock. Often, we can be overwhelmed with lots of crafting supplies and not knowing what to use. However, we can make beautiful handmade cards with these three basic supplies.
This Oceanfront Note Card featuring the SIP method was one of the cards that I taught at my May Coffee & Cards class.
The main stamp set I used for this card was the Oceanfront photopolymer stamp set. The inks I used were Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow and Tuxedo Black Memento. The paper was just the Basic White Note Cards, as well as Basic White and Mossy Meadow cardstock . With those, I was able to make a lovely card.
With this card I stamped in a particular progression. Using the Oceanfront stamp set, I stamped the sky in Balmy Blue ink and then the water in Pool Party ink. I stamped the sand and the speckled stamp with Crumb Cake ink. The grasses/toetoe and sentiment were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink. Lastly, the birds, from the On The Horizon stamp set, were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. This was then mounted on a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and then adhered to the front of the Note Card.
