Round We Go Simple Stamping Card

By | 17 August 2024

Today, I’m excited to share a Round We Go simple stamping card. This card showcases how you can create a beautiful design using just two inks, some paper, and a few basic embellishments like ribbon and gems. It’s a great example of how straightforward techniques can produce stunning results.

For this card, I used two of the new 2024-2026 In Colors: Petunia Pop and Summer Splash. These colours have quickly become my favourites from the new In Colors. I began by stamping the rounded edge sunburst image in Petunia Pop ink. To achieve a contrast between dark and light shades, I stamped off with the same ink, to create a lighter colour which I stamped in the spaces. For the other sunburst image with the pointy ends, I used Summer Splash ink, stamping full strength first and stamping off to fill in the spaces. This technique adds depth and interest to the card, and you can see exactly how it’s done in the video below.

In the centre of each sunburst, I stamped the opposite colour lightly, using the same stamping-off technique to maintain consistency. I matted the stamped piece onto Summer Splash cardstock and, before adhering it to the card base, I add some ribbon.

For the sentiment, I stamped “Happy Birthday” in Summer Splash ink and used the Labelled with Love punch to cut it out. I punched an additional piece from Summer Splash cardstock, cut it in half lengthwise, and placed it behind the sentiment to create a layered effect visible at the top and bottom. The sentiment was attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, I embellished the card with In Color Shimmer Gems for a touch of sparkle.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, this Round We Go simple stamping card demonstrates how minimal supplies can lead to impressive results. To see how you can use the whole bundle, in particular the dies, check out this impressive card that we made at our Extravaganza event in July, You can view that project here.

Next week, on Thursday, August 22nd, I will be creating another card using this set. Not only will I use the stamps, but I will use the dies too, so be sure to come back and see it!
