Impressions Abloom Card Ideas with Dies and In Colors

By | 7 May 2025

In my Facebook and YouTube live on 1st May, I shared two card variations using the new Impressions Abloom stamp set and dies—paired with the 2025–2027 In Colors. These products launched as Online Exclusives on 6th May, and it was such a treat to give you a sneak peek before they went live.

If you’re wondering how to start using your new In Colors or want inspiration with a fresh floral bundle, this is a great place to begin.

Stamped vs Embossed Backgrounds: Which Do You Prefer?

For this project, I created two versions of the same card—one with a stamped background using Versamark ink, and one with a textured embossed background. Both highlight the large floral stamps, which I die-cut and layered with dimensionals for added interest.

I also showed how to finish each card with either stamped centres and pearls inside the flowers or with flat pearls as embellishments around them. Just a few changes, but it really does give the cards a different feel!

Playing With the 2025–2027 In Colors

I used a mix of the new colours, including Timid Tiger, Strawberry Slush, and Cloud Cover—plus a stamped sentiment in Secret Sea ink. For the leaves and stems, I used Granny Apple Green ink, which added a nice fresh pop.

The In Color Flat Pearls were a lovely touch, whether in the flower centres or scattered around the card.

If you’re eyeing the In Colors, my In Color Club is a great way to get everything bit by bit—including cardstock, ink, embellishments, and more. Let me know if you’d like to join in.

The Dies Are a Game-Changer

The dies include outlines for the flowers and some really clever stitched oval shapes. I shared a tip during the live for layering the oval frame so it sits flush—cutting the solid shape and the dotted edge from separate pieces and layering them with care.

It’s a lovely way to add structure without using patterned paper (especially handy if your DSP hasn’t arrived yet!).

Which Version Do You Like Best?

I’d love to know—do you prefer the version with the embossed background or the one with stamped flowers behind? And for the base colour, do you lean toward Strawberry Slush or Timid Tiger?

The different options are included in the video so you can take a closer look and decide for yourself.
