Creating a Branching Out Fun Fold Card with Petals of Beauty is such an great way to combine beautiful stamped images with an interesting card design. In this week’s Facebook and YouTube Live, I shared this fun fold using the Petals of Beauty stamps, Branching Out Dies, and the coordinating Brushed with Beauty paper. If you love cards that open with a little surprise, this one might be just the sort you’ll enjoy giving a go.

Why You’ll Love This Branching Out Fun Fold with Petals of Beauty

Before I dive into the details, I want to acknowledge where the inspiration came from. This card design was inspired by a card made by one of my team members, Sheila Moreton, for our recent team card swap. Swaps are such a wonderful way to see new product from a catalogue, learn new folds or techniques, and simply be inspired by what others create. It’s one of the things I love most about being part of a team of crafters.

This fold looks like a normal card at first glance, but when you open it up, there’s a second flap that lifts to reveal your message inside. It’s simple, but it feels special, and it works so well with layered flowers.

During the live I shared how the Petals of Beauty images stamp beautifully in two steps, giving soft blends and detailed outlines with just one ink pad. Paired with the Branching Out Dies, the whole card comes together in such a lovely way. I showcased the card in Calypso Coral with touches of Petal Pink, Darling Duckling, Mossy Meadow, and Early Espresso. This is a warm mix of colour that works beautifully with the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper.

You’ll see in the photos above how the dies create the shaped front panel and the dedicated space for your sentiment. And because the fold is so versatile, you could easily recreate it with other papers and floral sets you already have at home.

Rather than walking through each step here, I encourage you to watch the replay of this week’s Facebook and YouTube live. You’ll see exactly how the fold works, how the stamping layers build up, and a few little tips I shared along the way. You’ll also get to see Sheila’s beautiful swap card, which sparked the idea for this fun fold.
