Gears & Textures Swap Cards Inspiration from My Team

By | 14 April 2026

Gears & Textures swap cards were such a highlight to receive, and I wanted to share them with you as there is so much inspiration in these designs. If you’ve ever wondered how one stamp set can be used in different ways, this is a perfect example.

These cards came from a recent team swap, and it really showed just how versatile the Gears & Textures bundle can be.

Why We Do Gears & Textures Swap Cards

Swapping is something my team has the opportunity to take part in, but it is completely optional. For those who choose to join in, it is such a lovely way to connect and be inspired by each other.

Here’s how it works. Once we know how many people are taking part, usually around 6 to 8, each person designs a card using at least one new product from the new catalogue or Online Exclusives. We then make multiple copies of the same card and send them to one person who sorts them all out.

In return, everyone receives one of each design. It means you end up with a beautiful variety of cards, all created by different people, and lots of new ideas to try.

Gears & Textures Swap Cards from My Team

In January, we had seven people take part, and four chose to use the Gears & Textures set. It was clearly a popular choice, but what I loved most was how different each card turned out.

Wendy Auger created a striking grey and silver card with a little black, using stamps, die-cuts, silver foil and silver embossing powder. The combination of texture and shine really made the gears stand out.

Jo Whittaker used Lost Lagoon and some neutral colours like black and browns, including Soft Suede, which is now retired but could easily be substituted with something like Pecan Pie. The large cog on her card even spins, and the inside is just as detailed with stamping and sponging.

Theresa Griffith created a bold design using black, grey, brown and a touch of red. Her card features a fun fold with an overlapping opening, adding something a little different to the design.

Lin Wheeler used greens with Designer Series Paper, including Old Olive and Mossy Meadow, along with gold accents. Her card has a really interesting fold where the inside piece slides up as you open it.

Gears & Textures Swap Cards Show So Much Variety

It was so lovely to see how the same stamp set could be used in such different ways. Different colours, different layouts, and even different folds all came together to create something unique.

This is one of the reasons I love being part of a team. There is always something new to learn and be inspired by.

If you would like to see some simpler cards using just the stamps, I’ve shared those in this post as well.
