Lovely As a Tree Extravaganza Slider Card

By | 10 November 2015

On Saturday afternoon the Creative Inkers Team held our final Extravaganza for the year.  We had just over 100 guests there who had a lot of fun creating some wonderful Christmas cards and 3D projects.  Today I will share with you the project that my team, Kathryn, Kylie and I taught.

Here is our card:

The card front is embossed with the Boughs and Berries Embossing Folder and the window frame is cut out using the Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies.  We wanted to create more of a New Zealand Christmas scene, so we used one of the trees from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set for a Pohutukawa tree.  We then added some sprinkles in Real Red ink from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set for our Pohutukawa flowers.

For those of you who are not from New Zealand and may wonder what a Pohutukawa tree looks like, here is a picture of one.  The tree flowers around December and January, so it is often known as New Zealand’s Christmas tree.

The front picture then slides up and behind it is another scene.  This time there is a Christmas tree inside.  We stamped the background to make it look like wallpaper using one of the stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  The Christmas tree is another tree from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set with some glimmer added to it.

The card also opens like a normal card so you can write a message inside.

Thank you for stopping by.  During the week I will be sharing with you four more projects that were made at the Extravaganza.  If you missed out on coming to this Extravaganza, but would like to come to the next one, please let me know and I can make sure you are informed of the date once it is finalised.  It will be around March of next year.
