Here is an amazing Flip Flap Card! This is the card that I made for my daughter’s 13th birthday last month. She loves pink, purple and dancing!
At first it looks like a standard card, but when you pull on the tab on the right-hand side, the front part of the card opens up!
Since I wanted to make a card that suited my daughter, I have used some stamp sets and paper that have now been retired. I used the Talented Trio stamp set, along with the Number of Years stamp set and dies.
I coloured the dancer with Stampin’ Blends. Initially I had stamped her on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, but I got a smudge on the piece which I was not happy about. To fix the problem, I fussy cut the dancer out. I then texture embossed the piece behind with the Subtle Embossing Folder and adhered the fussy cut ballet dancer with Dimensionals. I was quite pleased with how it looked in the end. Sometimes when something goes wrong, you learn how to make the most of it and sometimes you can come up with something better.
I taught it at my card class last month. The participants each made a Christmas card using this style of card. You can see it here.
Flip Flap Online Class
This card may look challenging to make, but once you know how, and if you take it step by step, it is a card anyone can make. If you would like to learn how to make it, I have it available as an online class. Not only will you learn how to make the card, but you will also learn the technique card that I taught at my class last month. I bought that gold/purple/pink cardstock pack but find it so busy that I’m not quite sure to do with some of the sheets, but I think you have nailed it with this design.
What a lovely card for a 13 year old. The colours are really gorgeous.
