The Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks are great for making some wonderful cards. No stamps are required, unless you wish to include a sentiment. Here are some cards I made using the butterflies and flower masks and the 2022-2024 In Colors.
In the cards above, I have used four of the 2022-2024 In Colors: Sweet Sorbet, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis.
The Basic White rectangle shape was cut with the Scalloped Contour dies.
I used Blending Brushes to apply the ink. I made sure that I had covered up the rest of the area around the shape I was colouring with Post-it Notes so I didn’t get ink where I didn’t want it on my cardstock. My biggest tip is that you make sure you do this. The technique is called masking. You can see how I did this in the video.
To create the butterflies and flowers, I used two layers of ink. They were both done with the same colour. I did the more open design – the first layer – very lightly. Then, when I did the more detailed layer on top, I applied more pressure with the Blending Brush and added more ink so the colour came out darker.
The card bases are the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes. The backgrounds of the card bases already have a pattern and feature one of the In Colors. They also have a pretty coordinating envelope.
Here is a close up of each of the four cards.
You can see the supplies I used here.
Check out the video to see how I made the cards.
The Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks are retiring at the end of this month, so if you would like to purchase them, make sure you do so – before they are gone for good.
