Here is a Butterflies & Flowers Layering Masks Slimline Card designed by team leader, Jacque Williams. A couple of weeks ago we had an online team training day and this was one of the cards we got to make. This is my version of Jacque’s card.
One of the great things about being a demonstrator is the people you meet and the things you get to do. I enjoy the in-person events the most but the online ones are great to do too. For this online at home event, our kits were sent to us beforehand. The kit included all the pre-card, embellishments, ribbon etc . There were a few things we needed ourselves like the layering masks, some ink and Blending Brushes. Using a private Facebook group and pre-recorded video, Jacque showed us how to make the card.
On my card the base of the butterfly is sponged with Pale Papaya ink using a Blending Brush and then the detailed butterfly pattern is done with copper embossing powder. Around the edge of the card the flowers are sponged in Balmy Blue and then Night of Navy ink. If I wanted the flowers darker I could have applied more ink and pressed harder with my Blending Brushes. The leaves are in Soft Succulent ink.
The important thing to remember when using the masks is to mask off the area round the shape you are using so you don’t get unwanted ink in the wrong places. You can use Post-it Notes or some easy to remove wide tape for this.
This is what the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks looks like. There are some great background masks too!
Here are the supplies I used to make my card.
Check out this video with some tips on how to use the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks.
There is no many possibilities with these decorative masks. You can create wonderful backgrounds or a main feature on the card, like in my slimline card. Why not give the Butterflies & Flower Layering Masks a try!
