This Star Album is what I made for a friend’s 40th birthday yesterday. It is a great way to have lots of pages for people to comment on. I made the Star Album using half sheets of 12″ x 12″ scrapbooking paper, like our wonderful Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper. You can add as many pages as you like. I have used some retired and some current papers in this album.
I made the Whisper White cardstock inserts separately so that everyone could write up their thoughts without having to pass the album around. They wrote on them individually and I adhered them in later. Each insert was stamped with something too – flowers, a butterfly, a dragonfly, ferns etc.
You could make this star album into a photo album if you liked, or even use if for a holiday journal or special occasion. There are so many possibilities with this album. A big thank you to my team member, Kylie, who made one of these and shared with me how she made it.
I made the cover of the star album with the recipients name on the front.
I made a birthday card to coordinate with the star album. Here is the card:
The card was bigger than a standard card. It was an A4 sheet of Thick Whisper White cardstock scored in half. The Butterfly Basics stamp set and coordinating dies were great for this larger card. The main colours I used were Wild Wasabi an Sweet Sugarplum. I also used the Number of Years stamp set and dies for the sentiment and 40th part of the card! This stamp set and dies is invaluable for all milestone occasions and great for children’s cards too. You can see the Number of Years stamp set here too.
