This Butterfly Brilliance Tri Fold Card was a card that I taught at my recent classes. It is great way to show of some wonderful Designer Series Paper [DSP]. Sometimes I am reluctant to use DSP as both sides of the paper are so nice and I don’t know which side to use. I also don’t like to adhere one side down so it won’t be seen. At least with this card, you get to see both sides of the paper!
I used the Paper Blooms DSP as the card base for this card. It was available during Sale-A-Bration earlier this year. The two main colours featured on the DSP and on my card are Rococo Rose and Night of Navy. Rococo Rose is one of my favourite colours and it will be retiring on 3rd May 2021. I will be sad to see it go.
You will see some splatter on the front piece behind the butterfly. I did that with my Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blend. I also used the Blend to colour the ribbon. The ribbon is the Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and you can colour it with any Blend colour that you have. This is a great way to get the matching ribbon you want. If you would like to see how I did this, check out this blog post and video.
The die-cut butterfly on the front of the card is from the Brilliant Wings dies. The butterfly would also look really nice with some Wink of Stella on it, to add some sparkle.
Inside the card I stamped one of the butterflies from the Brilliance Butterfly stamp set in Rococo Rose ink.
Here is a list of the supplies that I used. Some of the products I used are no longer available. This includes the Paper Blooms DSP and the Rococo Rose cardstock and Stampin’ Blend.
If you would like to learn how to make this Butterfly Brilliance Tri Fold Card, I have the tutorial available for purchase. You can see it here.
I hope this card inspires you to use your DSP, so why not give this tri-fold card a go!
