This card using the Countryside Inn Suite features texture as well as layers. The suite used to make this card includes the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper [DSP], the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder, and the Countryside Corners bundle which is a stamp and die set. This is a wonderful suite and it helps that the beautiful DSP features my favourite colour, blue, too!
The background is a piece of Boho Blue cardstock which has been dry embossed with the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder. To give the design some more definition, we gently ‘swiped’ a White Craft ink pad across the cardstock.
Below, the card on the left has the White Craft ink on the dry embossed background. The card on the right is without the white ink. Which one do you prefer?
I used three different sized dies from the Countryside Corners die set to create the piece in the middle of the card. The two outer layers were stamped with the Countryside Corners stamp onto Night of Navy and Boho Blue cardstock and cut to two different sizes. The centre piece was a piece of Basic White cardstock which had been die-cut. I stamped a sentiment from the Lasting Joy stamp set on the top half and adhered some DSP to the bottom half. To finish the card off, I added some Boho Blue textured ribbon and some stamped and fussy cut images from the Lasting Joy stamp set.
The Lasting Joy stamp set is not part of the Countryside Inn Suite but it coordinates nicely with it as some of the stamps are similar to some of the designs on the DSP.
