Back in November, we had our Auckland Christmas Extravaganza 2023! It was our final Extravaganza for the year. I didn’t post the projects at the time as some of the teachers were still teaching their cards at other classes. I can now share with you the five cards that were taught at the event.
Whale Watching Christmas Card
This card was designed by Sylvia Patterson and taught by Sylvia and me. We wanted something that showed a bit more of a summery Christmas. We used the Whale Watching stamp set and the Waves of Inspiration stamps and dies. The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set. The whale has been heat embossed with black embossing powder and the wave it comes out of is cut from the Glow in the Dark paper. The card involved some masking to colour the water, sky, and land.
Here is the inside of the card:
Beary Cute Card
This next card was designed by Heather Stewart and Judith Ferguson. It was taught by Paula Reid and Judith Ferguson. If features the Beary Cute stamp set and punch. The vibrant background colour is watercoloured. The polar bear is stamped and cut out with a punch. The smaller bear has been fussy cut.
Forever Forest Masking Card
This card was designed and taught by Jacque Williams. It features the Forever Forest stamps and dies and the Festive & Fun stamp set. The paper was watercoloured pink and then the trees were cut out. One could do a more traditional green tree if they wanted to. The background has been masked.
Joy of Noel
This card was Inspired by Mary Fish. It was presented and taught by Sally Williams and Lesley Scott. It features the Joy of Noel stamps and dies along with the Deckled Rectangles and Deckled Circle dies. The embossed background has been created with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder.
Stars at Night Card
This Stars at Night card was designed and taught by Karen Hadler and Helen Wigham. It features the Stars at Night stamps dies and hybrid embossing folder. I love the way the large star is cut out and embossed at the same time.
