This week, I focused on the Decorative Trees bundle during my Facebook and YouTube Live, sharing tips on how to create a beautiful, festive Christmas card. I wanted to bring a warm, classic feel to the design, and the combination of Cherry Cobbler and Gold worked perfectly for that.
For the background, I adhered a piece of Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper in Cherry Cobbler and gold onto a layer of Basic Beige cardstock, which I then mounted on a Mossy Meadow card base. I love how the rich colours and subtle gold accents add a touch of elegance. The focal point of the card is the embossed tree, which was stamped in gold embossing powder, die-cut, and placed on a circle cut from Basic Beige cardstock using the Spotlight on Nature dies. I also added a Pecan Pie cardstock tree trunk to complete the tree.
The circle was adhered to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, creating a lovely layered effect. The tree was then added to the circle, also using Dimensionals, which really makes it pop. To finish off the design, I die-cut a small star in gold foil and added it to the top of the tree for that final festive touch.
For the sentiment, I used Cherry Cobbler ink and cut it out with the Labelled with Love Punch. I adhered the sentiment to the card front, and to complete the card, I added a few Drusy Gold embellishments, which bring just the right amount of sparkle without overpowering the design, as well as a Gold Trim bow for an extra special detail.
Here are the supplies I used.
