Welcome back! Today, I’m excited to share the next project in our Frosted Forest series, featuring beautiful evergreen tree cards. If you missed yesterday’s post about the single tree card, you can catch up here.
For this card, I used three different masks to build depth and variation in the evergreen tree. I began by sponging Old Olive ink with mask A as the base layer. Next, I deepened the colour using mask B with Mossy Meadow ink, giving the tree richer tones. Although mask C is optional, I decided to add it with a light touch of Mossy Meadow ink for even more depth and shadow.
After completing the first tree, I placed the smaller tree mask next to it, using the same process to add both trees to my scene. This creates a balanced, layered look that gives the card extra dimension.
For variety, I experimented with different base colours. One card has Mossy Meadow matting on an Old Olive card base, and the other reverses this combination with Old Olive matting on a Mossy Meadow base. This small change gives each card a unique feel.
In addition to these differences, there’s another subtle variation. After sponging with the masks, I stamped over the trees on the left card with Garden Green ink to give the trees extra definition. This stamping adds a rich layer of detail, enhancing the depth of the trees. The right card is left without stamping, showing a softer, purely sponged look. Which version do you prefer—stamped or just masked? Let me know in the comments which combination catches your eye!

I hope you were inspired by today’s evergreen tree cards. Check back tomorrow when I’ll share the final card in this series featuring snowy trees in a Christmas scene!
