This Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper Card was one that I made as part of our monthly team sketch challenge for April. It is great to see what creations others come up with when using the same Sketch. One of the great things about being part of a team is that we can encourage and inspire each other by sharing our creations.
Designer Series Paper is often shortened to DSP. This is what Stampin’ Up! calls patterned paper. This card uses a couple of sheets of the Fancy Flora DSP cut to specific sizes to create the background. I based my card around the colours that were in these sheets of DSP. I have adhered the DSP to a slightly larger Highland Heather piece of cardstock and then onto the Balmy Blue card base.
Here is the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper. It is lovely paper, but it is only around until 1st May 2023, or while stocks last. If you like it, make sure you order it, before it is gone for good!
I stamped one of the flowers in Daffodil Delight ink as there was a touch of yellow in one of the pieces of DSP and I wanted to highlight that more. The other flower is stamped with Highland Heather ink. These flowers were stamped with the two-step stamping technique. I find it easier to do the detailed stamp first. Then I use the same colour ink, but I stamp off before stamping with the solid flower image. Because I had stamped off, the ink is lighter so it looks like I used two different colours.
The leaves were stamped in Soft Succulent ink. That colour doesn’t appear on these pieces of DSP, but it is used quite a lot on some of the other sheets in this paper collection. After I stamped the flowers and the leaves, I cut them out with the coordinating dies. They are all adhered onto the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies.
Here is a list of the supplies I used to make this card.
One of the great things about using a Sketch is that sometimes you want to make a card, but you don’t know where to start. A Sketch is the perfect starting point. If you would like more inspiration from Sketches, check out my Sketch programme here.
Why not use this Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper Card as a starting point for your next card and create something similar with the supplies that you have?
