Here is a Fancy Fold Sailing Card that I made for my dad who likes sailing. In fact he likes doing many different things related to the water and sailing. Over the years he has done fishing, wind-surfing, diving, water-skiing and blo-karting (a land yacht).
I cut out a rectangular shape with the Stitched Rectangle Dies out of a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock. I used Shimmery White Cardstock as I wanted to colour the background with ink and paper. When using Water Painters it is best to use Shimmery White Cardstock or Watercolour Paper so that the paper doesn’t become soggy and fall apart. Once it had dried, I stamped the sailing boat in StazOn ink. The boat is from the Sailing Home stamp set. I added the twine before I adhered the stamped piece to some Night of Navy Cardstock.
The background is Balmy Blue Cardstock which I embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I wanted to create that water ripple effect. This embossing folder is now retired.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set.
The larger embossed Balmy Blue flap opens up to the right and the message is written inside the card.
Here is the Sailing Home stamp set:
Here are a list of the supplies I used to make this card.
Here is another card which uses some of the other stamps in the Sailing Home Stamp Set.
The Sailing Home Stamp Set is great for creating masculine cards and for anyone who loves sailing.
I hope you enjoyed the Fancy Fold Sailing Card.
