This card features the Faux Linen technique, paired with the Textured Notes stamps and dies and the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder. I’m loving the versatility of this bundle — I originally bought it for the dies, but I’ve found myself reaching for the stamps just as much, especially for Coffee & Cards.

The colours I used here are Secret Sea, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Pecan Pie, with a touch of tissue paper texture to create that soft, fabric-like finish. The Faux Linen technique adds beautiful texture and interest without overwhelming the card, making it perfect for all sorts of occasions.
Supplies Used: You’ll find the main products I used for this Faux Linen technique card in my online store here. If you already have some of these items, you can easily adapt the technique with what you own.
I first taught this card in my June Technique & Fun Fold Class, and it was lovely to see how much everyone enjoyed creating it. My class attendees enjoyed seeing how a simple piece of tissue paper could transform into a textured focal point.
More recently, I shared it at a team retreat organised by my team leader, Jacque Williams. Over the weekend, each of us taught a different card, sharing new ideas, techniques, and fun folds. It was such a wonderful time away — crafting together, enjoying delicious meals, connecting, and encouraging one another.
If you can’t make it to classes in person, you can still learn techniques like this from home. I’ve put together a step-by-step tutorial with clear photos and measurements in both metric and imperial (for A4 cardstock) and imperial for letter-size cardstock. It guides you through creating this exact card so you can achieve the Faux Linen look yourself. You can use your own supplies to try this technique, adapting colours and stamps to suit your style.

Get the Tutorial: Click below to see what’s included and how you can purchase your copy. The PDF is usually NZD $10, but until Friday, 15th August it’s just NZD $8. Purchase now and receive the tutorial by email so you can start creating straight away.
I hope you’ll give the Faux Linen technique a try with the stamps and supplies you already have on hand. It’s such a fun way to add texture and interest to your cards, and once you’ve tried it, you might find yourself using it again and again!
