Create Beautiful Cards: Faux Tile Technique With Leaf Collection Background Stamp

By | 11 June 2024

Today, I am excited to share with you this stunning card featuring the Faux Tile Technique and the Leaf Collection background stamp!

Faux tile technique, leaf collection

This card showcases two fantastic techniques, using the beautiful colours Pretty Peacock and Pool Party. The first technique is the Faux Tile Technique, which adds interest and texture to the background. The second technique involves using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid embossing folder to emboss and die-cut the sentiment.

The Leaf Collection is a large background stamp that allows you to stamp the entire image in one go. For this card, I used Pretty Peacock ink to stamp it, giving it a rich, elegant look.

For the sentiment on the front, I used the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid embossing folder and dies to add a special touch. I die-cut and embossed the sentiment first, then used a brayer to apply ink, making it stand out beautifully. This was adhered to the banner and I incorporated some vellum leaves for an extra layer of texture and softness along with a bow tied with Linen Thread.

This card was one of the projects featured in my in-person class in May. If you’re local and would like to join one of my future classes, you can find the schedule and locations here.

For those who can’t attend in-person, you can still learn how to make this card from the comfort of your own home. The tutorial is available for purchase and includes step-by-step instructions with photos, metric measurements, and a complete supply list.

I hope you do have fun trying this Faux Tile Technique.
