Today I will share with you my five favourite die sets from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue. I love using dies as it makes cutting stamped images out so easy and they look a lot neater and are quicker to do than fussy cutting – cutting with scissors. If you love to make cards and you haven’t invested in a Big Shot yet, it is well worth it as it will take your card making to the next level. You will wonder how you ever did without it.
My Five Favourite Die Sets:
Number One: Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies
Yesterday one of my favourite stamp sets was the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. This is the coordinating die set, so this was a must have when I bought the stamp set. I love the intricate dragonfly dies with this set. They look stunning when cut out of foil sheets, especially in copper.
Number Two: Window Box Thinlits Dies
I must admit, at first I didn’t even notice this die set in the catalogue. It wasn’t until another Demonstrator made one as part of a team swap. I was impressed that she made a hexagon box and then I realised she had used a die from the new Occasions Catalogue. There are so many different ways you can create with this die set. You make a box and die cut on the sides, stamp the sides, die cut squares and adhere to the sides… the list goes on! You can decorate the top of the box so many different ways too!
Number Three: So Detailed Thinlits Dies
This is a very intricate and pretty die set. Quite a contrast to the other die sets on offer and I think that is one of the reasons it appeals.
Number Four: Up & Away
The hot air balloon dies give the opportunity for you to create something a little different on your cards. The die set also includes clouds so you can create a really high in the sky scene on your card. The hot air balloon image can be used for all sorts of cards and for all ages.
Number Five: Build It Framelits Dies
Another one of the favourite stamp sets yesterday was the Nailed It one. And if there is a set of dies that goes along with a stamp set to make cutting out the stamped images quick and easy, then this also becomes one of my favourites!
