Today I am sharing a Gilded Leafing Christmas card featuring the Merriest Trees bundle. I love the way the Gilded Leafing really accentuates this card.
Gilded Leafing is gold flakes which can be adhered to a project to add a gold touch to it. I have used VersaMark ink and Heat & Stick to apply it.
Here is how I made the card. I started by stamping the solid tree in Starry Sky ink and then stamped the tree detail in VersaMark ink. I sprinkled some Heat & Stick over the top, removed the excess and heated it with my Heat Tool. While it was still sticky, I applied the Gilded Leafing. I used a brush to remove the excess before die-cutting the tree out.
You may be wondering, why didn’t I just use Gold Embossing Powder? Gilded Leafing looks different to Gold Embossing Powder. Gold Embossing Powder gives a smoother and darker finish. The Gilded Leafing gives more texture and a brighter finish. You can see the difference below.

Gold Embossing Powder can only be applied with VersaMark ink and heat set. Gilded Leafing can be applied by other methods, such as Liquid Glue, Tear and Tape, Adhesives Sheets etc, making it quite versatile.
I dry embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder and the adhered the die-cut Christmas tree. The star was cut from Gold Foil and added to the top of the tree. The dry embossed piece was adhered to a piece of Boho Blue cardstock and then to the Starry Sky card base.
Here is a close up of the card:
Here are the supplies that I used.
