On these simple note cards, I used multiple ink colours on a stamp to achieve a stunning effect. The stamp I have used is the Loveliest Trees stamp. I created one note card with two shades of green and another with some autumn colours.
To achieve this technique, I first inked the part of the stamp that had the leaves with the lightest colour. Then I used a dauber to dab another colour randomly over the leaves to add contrast. This effect is very subtle with the green shades. For the green tree, I inked the stamp with Old Olive and used Garden Green with the dauber. To finish the tree, I coloured the trunk and lower branches with a Stampin’ Write Marker. To avoid damaging the tip, I coloured it with the side of the brush. Once I had done that, I “huffed” on it to add moisture and then stamped it.
After stamping the tree, I sponged around it with a Blending Brush to soften the harsh white background. I used Balmy Blue for the sky and Garden Green for the grass.
For the autumn-looking tree, I used Crushed Curry first on the stamp. Then, with my daubers, I added Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze. I also sponged around the tree with Balmy Blue and Garden Green to complete the scene. Once I had my scene created, I stamped my sentiment. It was either from the Loveliest Trees or Simply Said stamp set. I adhered the stamped piece onto a Garden Green or Cajun Craze cardstock mat and then adhered it onto the note card.

Here are the supplies I used. Although I haven’t used it for these cards, the Loveliest Trees stamp set has a coordinating die set that goes with it too. This die set cuts out the tree and includes extra dies as well. You can see it below. Purchasing the set as a bundle saves you 10%, and during June, you save an extra 10%. You can order them through my online store or contact me, and I can help you place your order.
Check out my video below, where I demonstrate how to make both of these cards. For more inspiration and to learn other techniques, visit my YouTube channel and don’t forget to subscribe.
