Impressions Abloom Card Variation with a Border

By | 28 April 2025

Last week during my live, and yesterday on my blog, I shared a project using the beautiful Impressions Abloom stamp set along with the new 2025–2027 In Colors. If you missed it, you can catch up here and see the original design!

After making the first versions, I wanted to try a variation with a slightly different look — by adding a border around the stamped panel. It’s a simple change, but it gives the card a softer, framed effect compared to the full panel version.

I made two bordered variations — one with a Timid Tiger card base and one with a Strawberry Slush card base. In both, the card base colour peeks around the edges, creating a lovely framed look that really highlights the stamped flowers.

During my live, the first two cards featured Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling as the background colours, but with the stamped panels covering the full card front. It’s amazing how simply adjusting the design slightly — by adding a border — can create such a different feel!

Here is one card without a border and one with:

Here’s a close up look at the two styles:

And another bordered version using Strawberry Slush:

Which style do you prefer?
✔️ Full card panel with background colour showing through the gaps?
✔️ Or bordered with colour framing the design as well as showing through the gaps?

I’d love to hear your thoughts — feel free to leave a comment and let me know!
