The Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper [DSP] is perfect for a masculine themed sunburst card. This is a stunning card where the patterned paper does all the work.
This Father’s Day card has the paper as the main feature. Only a sentiment has been added to it.
There are a couple of tricks to getting the sunburst to look right. You have to cut the paper a particular size and then cut it in half to make triangles. This creates the correct sized angle so that the the pieces fit nicely on the card front.
Once you know what size the pieces of DSP need to be, the hardest part of making this card is deciding which papers to use and how to arrange them! Once you are happy with your layout, it is easy to adhere them to a piece of cardstock and then trim off the excess.
Here are two other versions using the same DSP. These are “Happy Birthday” cards. These cards have some of the coordinating twine wrapped around the front along with a Sail Away trinket adhered below the sentiment.
I am not sure if you noticed, but I sponged the edges of each triangle to define the paper in the third card.
Which is your favourite of the three cards?
