Matting a sentiment on a card is a great way to help it stand out. Today, I am going to show you how you can do this using the same sized punch as the one you used to punch out your sentiment.
The card above has the sentiment punched out with the Label Me Fancy punch. The same punch has been used to frame or mat it. If you are wondering how it frames it when it is the same size, the trick is to cut the extra piece for matting in half longways. You then adhere the top so it shows above the sentiment piece and the other half so it shows below the bottom of the sentiment. I used a scrap piece of Evening Evergreen to punch out my second Label Me Fancy piece. I cut it in half longways and then I adhered it to the top and bottom. The darker framing of the sentiment helps it to stand out from the textured pattern behind.

You can try this technique with other similar punches too. Why not try the Label Me Lovely punch or the Lasting Label punch? Use a complementing colour from your card to mat your sentiment.
