Did you join me for my ‘Mystery Stamping Live’ on Thursday? If you missed it, no worries! I’m here to recap all the fun and creativity we shared. Mystery Stamping is a versatile and engaging way to craft—it’s the perfect opportunity to gather your supplies, follow simple steps, and let your creativity shine. Whether you’re a seasoned stamper or just starting, this layout is one you’ll love experimenting with.
What is Mystery Stamping?
Mystery Stamping is an interactive crafting experience where I guide you step-by-step through creating a card layout, but here’s the twist—I don’t show you the final design upfront! Instead, I give you “clues” (instructions) as you go, letting your imagination and supplies take the lead.
The best part? You don’t need specific stamps, paper, or tools. Use what you have on hand and make it your own! Each participant ends up with a unique creation, proving that creativity has no limits.
Supplies You’ll Need
Here’s what you’ll need to create your own Mystery Stamping card (measurements included):
Cardstock/Paper
- Patterned Paper/Designer Series Paper (DSP): 6.5cm x 11.5cm (vertical)
- Cardstock Card Base: 21cm x 14.85cm (scored at 10.5cm)
- Cardstock Layer (same colour as card base): 10cm x 14.3cm
- Accent Cardstock (contrasts with card base): 7cm x 9cm
- Die-Cut or Punched Circle (~7cm diameter): Use cardstock that complements your DSP but contrasts with the 7cm x 9cm piece.
Stamps, Tools & More
- Main Image: Stamp directly onto the circle or use a pre-stamped/die-cut image.
- Background Stamp: Flowers, stars, or any fun pattern.
- Sentiment Stamp: Approx. 1.5cm x 5cm strip.
- Ink: Matching colors for your background, sentiment, and image.

Mystery Stamping Video
Ready to start crafting? Watch the video replay of the live session and follow along as I guide you through each step.
For beginners, take your time to follow each step and feel free to experiment. Advanced crafters, challenge yourself to add creative elements like layering, embossing, or embellishments!
Here are a few examples I made using this layout:
Each of the four cards I’m sharing with you feature a circle die from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. For the background I have used the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. While each card is unique, they all share the same versatile layout, making it easy to adapt for any occasion or theme.
This first card features the Reindeer Fun Stamp and Dies paired with the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper. I have used a Garden Green card base with a contrast of Real Red.
This second card features the Humble Home Stamps and Punch along with the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper. I have used a Real Red card base with a contrast of Garden Green.
These next two cards use the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper, For both I have used a Misty Moonlight card base and a contrast of Gray Granite.
Join the Fun!
