Creating handmade Christmas cards is such a joy, and the Peace on Earth card with the Peaceful Garden Suite is one of those designs that carries a timeless, heartfelt message. In this week’s live, I made two versions of the card to show how small changes in details can give each card a slightly different feel.
Peace on Earth Card in White & Blue
The first card has a Basic White card base, layered with Misty Moonlight and Cloud Cover. The embossed background adds beautiful texture, while the white dove with open wings gives a serene focal point. I finished this design with a bow tied from the Misty Moonlight & Silver Edged Ribbon and white embellishments that coordinate perfectly with the crisp card base.
Peace on Earth Card with Secret Sea Base
The second version has a Secret Sea card base. For this one, I sponged Misty Moonlight ink over the embossed cardstock to bring out even more detail. Instead of a bow, I tied the ribbon into a simple knot, giving it a slightly more understated look. The embellishments are the Hues of Blue Flowers in Secret Sea, coordinating perfectly with the card base. I also used the other dove die from the Peace on Earth bundle for this card, giving it a different focal point from the first design.
Same Design, Two Different Looks
Both cards use the same Peace on Earth stamp set and dies along with the Peaceful Greenery embossing folder, but the card bases, dove die-cut, ribbon styles, and embellishments make each unique. It’s a wonderful reminder that you don’t always need to completely change your supplies—just a tweak in colours or finishes can transform your project.
