The Seaside Seashells Window Card was the project that Kathryn, Sylvia and I taught at the Auckland Extravaganza event a couple of weeks ago. The card was designed by Sylvia.
The card features a few techniques, including: inking an embossing folder, texture embossing a stamped image, adding gold gilded leaves and using foam adhesive strips for dimension.
First we inked the inside of the Seabed 3D embossing folder with Misty Moonlight ink using the new Blending Brushes. By putting ink on the inside of folder before embossing the cardstock, the embossed pattern on the cardstock came out more defined.
For the front of the card, we cut out a scalloped rectangle window with the Stitched So Sweetly dies so that the opening allowed you to see the textured background behind it. The sentiment and sand were stamped onto the window frame and we also sponged in the bottom right corner. The sponging was also done with the Blender Brushes, but this time with a new brush. You can wash a brush to rinse the ink out, but you need to wait for it to dry before using it again. They may stain a bit, but once it has been washed and dried it, you can use it for another colour. Since the Blending Brushes come in packs of three, you can have a different colour for each brush. This would usually be enough for one project.
We die-cut the die with the shells and seaweed onto Very Vanilla cardstock. To stamp the shells onto the die-cut piece, we lined it up with the Stamparatus and then stamped them. The next step was texture embossing the die-cut and stamped piece with the Seashells 3D embossing folder. This embossing folder fits the die-cut perfectly. The two shells were cut out from the rest of the die-cut piece so they were individual pieces. Next we added some VersaMark liquid ink in patches over each shell with a brush, and sprinkled them with Heat and Stick. We heat set the Heat and Stick powder and then added some of the Gilded Leafing Embellishment, brushing off any excess.
Now the card was all put together. The white rectangle window piece was adhered with Foam Strips so that it lifts it up from the card and gives it some dimension.

Over the next few days, I will share the other projects that were made at the March Auckland Extravaganza. If you enjoyed seeing the Seaside Seashells Window Card, I hope you will come back and see the other wonderful creations that were made.
