Looking for card ideas that are simple to create but still feel elegant and polished? In this week’s Facebook and YouTube Live on 29th May, I used the Layered Thoughts stamp set and Textured Note Dies to create three clean and stylish card designs. With soft patterns, subtle details, and bold sentiments, these cards are perfect for a variety of occasions—and they come together quickly with just a few key supplies.

Add subtle texture and bold sentiments with the Layered Thoughts stamp set
If you love clean lines, pretty papers, and simple techniques that look polished, you’ll want to check out this week’s live video featuring the Layered Thoughts stamp set. I shared three card ideas that combine soft patterns, textured details, and bold sentiments—all while keeping the designs easy to recreate with just a few supplies.
Whether you’re crafting for a birthday, sending thanks, or thinking of someone, these cards show how you can make your sentiments the focus without overcomplicating things.
A touch of texture can make all the difference
In this Live, I used the Textured Note Dies to add gentle details around the edge of the card fronts. It’s a subtle way to frame your design and elevate the overall look without fuss. I paired it with Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper, which added soft background interest behind the bold greetings.
You’ll see different versions—one with a wide green card base, another with a narrower layout, and a design using dry embossing on a white background layered onto green. The colour palette is fresh and natural, making it suitable for any season or occasion.
Here’s a peek at the cards:

Step It Up with Heat Embossing
You can take this design to the next level by stamping the sentiment onto Garden Green cardstock with VersaMark and embossing it in white. It creates a striking contrast and adds a crisp, professional finish to the card. Same layout, just a little extra wow with this stepped-up version using heat embossing!

Each version brings out something a little different while using the same basic layout and supplies. That’s the beauty of a good stamp set—it gives you options! Which one is your favourite?

Rather than walking you through step-by-step instructions here, I encourage you to watch the video replay. You’ll get to see exactly how I used the Layered Thoughts stamp set and picked which papers, textures, and colours to mix and match.
