Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing some beautiful cards featuring the Frosted Forest Bundle. This bundle includes a stamp set, dies, and two sets of masks, which act like stencils, making colouring these forest scenes effortless. Today, we’re starting with a simple yet striking card featuring the single tree mask.
For this card, I stamped the tree outline on Basic White cardstock with Memento Black ink and cut it out using the Deckled Rectangles dies. Then, I used the three tree masks to add layers of colour to the tree. Starting with mask 1, I added Pecan Pie ink to the tree trunk with a Blending Brush. I followed with mask 2 for the tree’s main colour in Lemon Lime Twist ink and finished with mask 3 in Granny Apple Green, which adds a subtle contrast to the Lemon Lime Twist.
For the background, I used Blending Brushes to sponge Balmy Blue ink for the sky and Garden Green ink for the grass. I then wrapped some Linen Thread around the piece with the tree to add texture and variety. Next, I mounted this onto a Pecan Pie cardstock piece embossed with the Birchwood 3D embossing folder and finally adhered it to a Granny Apple Green card base. To finish, I stamped ‘thanks’ onto a small piece of Pecan Pie cardstock and adhered it to the card as a simple, thoughtful sentiment.”
