Sunrise Sailing Bundle Card Ideas You’ll Love

By | 13 June 2025

If you’ve been searching for some fresh inspiration using the Sunrise Sailing bundle, you’re in the right place! In this week’s Facebook and YouTube live, I shared how to create a simple, elegant card using this bundle—complete with a hybrid embossing folder, stamp set, and coordinating dies.

This bundle is not featured in the Annual Catalogue, but you’ll find it in the Online Exclusives section of the online store. If you enjoy adding texture to your projects and you like a nautical theme, this is one to check out. It’s great for both masculine cards and occasions where you want a peaceful, outdoorsy feel.

Why I Love the Sunrise Sailing Bundle

What makes this bundle extra special is the hybrid embossing folder—you can emboss and die cut in one step, which makes it both fun and efficient to use. The folder adds waves, clouds, and a detailed sailboat image. It gives your card an instant wow factor with minimal effort.

For the main card in my live, I used the Secret Sea and Cloud Cover colours, both soft In Colors, with a touch of Balmy Blue sponged in to add sky tones. Arter embossing the background, I sponged with a Blending Brush the sea with Secret Sea and the sky with Balmy Blue. The contrast between the smooth blended areas and the raised embossed texture really brings the card to life.

To finish it off, I added a stamped and die-cut a boat, then added a sentiment with a wave type die-cut to it. I also added a subtle shimmer to the water with Wink of Stella, which adds that lovely hint of sparkle—just like sunlight reflecting on the ocean.

Two Colour Options — Which Do You Prefer?

I made two versions of the card—one with a Cloud Cover card base and Secret Sea matting, and the other the opposite way around. Both had the same layout, but the switch in colour layering gave each one a slightly different feel. It’s amazing how a small change like that can shift the tone of the whole card. Here are the two cards next to each other and then I have close up photos below.

Do you like the lighter base for a softer look, or the bolder background with the pop of colour in the middle? I’d love to hear what you think.

Bonus Inspiration from a Team Swap

As part of a recent team swap, I received two gorgeous cards using this same bundle. It’s always so inspiring to see what others come up with using the same tools!

One card was from Linda Barnes, who is in my direct team. She used two bold In Colors, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling. She flipped the embossing folder and used the debossed side, which gave a completely different effect. She even added colour directly to the raised areas. This was a technique I taught at my monthly classes a few months ago and it was also a technique I taught to my team.

This card was created by Paula Reid, who is part of the same wider team as me—we’re both in Jacque Williams’ team. Paula used the colour Azure Afternoon along with the Everyday Details Arches Dies. She framed the sailboat with the arched die and added dimension using some of the smaller die-cut pieces. It’s a beautiful take on a congratulations card.

These extra designs show how versatile this bundle can be—perfect for birthdays, retirements, thank-you cards or just a note to say “thinking of you”.

You can catch the full replay of the live below, where I walk through each step, share blending tips, and explain how I used the dies and embossing folder to build the card. It’s a great way to see the products in action and hopefully get some ideas for your own crafting.

If you’re feeling inspired to create with the Sunrise Sailing bundle, I encourage you to give it a go. Play around with colour combinations, test out both sides of the embossing folder, or switch up the sentiments to suit the occasion. It’s one of those bundles that gives you a lot of creative options without being overwhelming.

And if you do give it a try, I’d love for you to share your creation with me—either by tagging me on social media or sending through a photo. Let’s keep inspiring one another!
