Layered Welcome Noel Christmas Cards in Two Shades of Green

By | 8 November 2026

For these Welcome Noel Christmas cards, I swapped Mossy Meadow and Old Olive to see how two shades of green could change the look of the same little village. I originally made this design for a team swap using the Stampin’ Up! Welcome Noel Bundle, and I shared it in my Thursday live. Making a second version was a good excuse to see what would happen if I switched the greens around.

One design, two ways to layer the greens

For my original team swap card, I put the darker Mossy Meadow trees at the top and the lighter Old Olive trees below. I stamped the little houses in Pecan Pie and offset the two rows so you can see more of the houses behind. I finished the card with a gold heat-embossed “Season’s Greetings” and three little gold dots.

On the second card, I put Old Olive at the top and Mossy Meadow below. The darker green now sits closer to the houses, which changes where your eye goes when you first look at the card. Have a look at the two photos and see which arrangement you prefer.

A tip for lining up the stamp and die

The long house stamp is made from flexible photopolymer, so it can shift a little when you put it on your block. If one end of your stamped image lines up with the die but the other end is slightly off, try this before you ink up.

Place the die on your work surface with the cutting edge facing down. Fit the stamp into the outline with the stamping surface facing down.

Then press your clear block onto the back of the stamp to pick it up. This helps the stamp hold its shape on the block so the houses line up with the die after stamping.

Watch the Thursday live replay

In the replay, I show how the rows of trees and houses come together to make the layered village scene. I also share some of the cards from our team swap, so you can see what the other demonstrators made. Supplies I used

I used the Stampin’ Up! Welcome Noel Bundle for the houses and trees, with Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, and Pecan Pie for the village. Shop the supplies for these Welcome Noel Christmas cards.

Which of these Welcome Noel Christmas cards would you make first, the one with Mossy Meadow at the top or the one with Old Olive at the top?
