A great way to add texture to a card is by dry embossing a stamped image. This is what I have done to the card below.
I stamped some of the different leaf stamps from the Forever Ferns stamp set in Soft Suede, Old Olive and Garden Green ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I dry embossed the stamped piece with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder so that it gave some texture to the card front. This embossing folder has a fairly subtle texture, so it doesn’t take away from the stamped images too much. You would need to be selective as to which embossing folder would suit being used for this technique.
I adhered the stamped and dry embossed piece to a slightly larger piece of Old Olive cardstock. Before adhering it to the Soft Suede card front, I added some linen thread to the card.
The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. It has been cut out with the Label Me Fancy punch.
Here are the supplies that I used to make this card.
