Dove of Hope Christmas Card

By | 6 October 2020

The Dove of Hope Christmas card was part of a team swap that I took part in last month. I made ten of this card, kept one for myself, and received nine different cards in return. The card swap is a great way for me to get a range of cards that I can display and share with my customers at my Open Home event and classes.

To make the Dove of Hope Christmas card, I used Pretty Peacock as my card base. The background piece is texture embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D embossing folder This has lately become one of my favourite embossing folders.

The Detailed Dove die set, which I have used for this card, coordinates with the Dove of Hope stamp set. In this stamp set, there are two dove images which can be stamped and cut out with dies. In the die set there is a wonderful large dove die which you can use to create a single layer or two layered dove. I cut the dove out of Whisper White cardstock and then spritzed the wings with the holes in it with Frost White Shimmer Paint to give it some sparkle. I adhered the wing with the holes in it on top of the full dove wing. There is also a small tail which has a full solid piece adhered to it behind the cut out pieces. This week for my Thursday’s Tip, I will show you in a video how to use the Dove Detailed dies.

The dove is holding a small olive branch which has been cut out from a scrap piece of the Gold Foil Sheet.

The Peace, Joy, Love stamp is from the Dove of Hope stamp set. I stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Pretty Peacock ink. I then cut it out with one of the Stitched Rectangle dies.

The dove’s eye and pearls in the sentiment are Gold Metallic Pearls.

Product List

The card is not an original design. I cased it from Judy May. I thought it was an amazing design and that is why I cased it.

I hope you liked learning how I made the Dove of Hope card. Tomorrow I will share about a simplified version of the card that the people who came to my Open Home event got to make.
