Inlaid Embossing Technique Card

By | 8 November 2014

Today’s card was made by Amanda, my three and a half year old.   This is her creation which she made for her Daddy’s birthday which was yesterday.

Amanda's Inlaid Embossed card

Amanda was having lots of fun cutting some circles and stars with my punches out of scraps of card while I was doing some preparation for the Extravagazna a couple of days ago.  I then got the idea for her to use them to make an inlaid emboss technique card that Paula Reid recently shared at our team training.

I helped Amanda glue down the punched out shapes onto a piece of Whisper White, but she chose where to put them.   She then chose the embossing folder whe wanted – Cloudy Day, which has now been retired.  She enjoys using my Big Shot and embossed it herself.  We then needed a sentiment, so she stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Label Love stamp set choosing some ink I had on the table for something else.  I helped her punch it out and she adhered it to the card with Dimensionals.   We then mounted this onto the card she chose. Didn’t she do well?!

Here she is enjoying her stamping.

Thanks for visiting.  If you haven’t tried this inlaid embossing technique, you should give it a go.  I would love to see your creations.
