July Extravaganza Animal Tri-fold Card

By | 9 August 2019

Today’s Animal Tri-fold card is the project that my group and I taught at last month’s Extravaganza.

The tri-folds and circles make it a unique card. The animal on the card is from the Wildly Happy stamp set. The guests could choose to stamp the elephants, rabbits or pandas.

Here is one with the pandas.

The lovely patterned Designer Series Paper (DSP) cleverly hides how the card is made, so you can see how the extra flap is attached. The paper used was the Garden Lane DSP which coordinates with the Pear Pizzazz cardstock.

Each card required five circle rings, so there was a lot of precutting before the event. If each guest needed to cut their own five rings at the event, it would be too time-consuming, so that is why we cut them all beforehand. With over 100 kits, that meant 500 circles. Thankfully the load was shared between our team of three! And waste not, want not! The leaves on the front were cut with the Leaf punch from two of the inner circles.

Here is a card with the rabbits on it.

What is an Extravaganza event?

If you are wondering what an Extravaganza event is, I will explain. It is an event which is held three times a year in March, July and November in a school hall in central Auckland. The teachers of the event invite their customers to come along to spend a fun afternoon of crafting. During the afternoon the guests each make five different projects featuring Stampin’ Up! products. At the same time, they learn how to make new styles of cards and learn some techniques and tips.

We will hold our final Extravaganza event for the year on Saturday 9th November. It will be Christmas themed. If you would like to join us, please diary the date now and email me, so that I can send you more information closer to the time.
