Today I will share with you how to use ink with the Decorative Masks. Did you know that there are lots of ways to use them? You can dry emboss with Decorative Masks, use it with VersaMark and Embossing Powder, or use it with Embossing Paste to create interesting backgrounds. Over the following weeks, I will share these different techniques with you, one technique each week.
This week we are starting with using ink with the Decorative Masks. The lower white panel on this card has been inked with Garden Green ink and a Decorative Mask.
These are what the Decorative Masks look like. They usually come in a pack of four. At the moment there are three different sets available. Two are in the Annual Catalogue and one is in the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue.
When I used a Decorative Mask to make the card above, I first put down a piece of Basic White cardstock and then I placed the mask on top. I used tape to hold the cardstock and mask in place. Then I got ink from an ink pad with my Blending Brush and gently rubbed it over the mask. Depending on the pattern of the Decorative Mask, you may need to work gently in a circular or back and forth motion. You can carefully lift the mask a little to see how much ink has been applied and add more it you need to. When I was happy with how it looked, I carefully removed the mask and had my inked piece ready to add to my card.
