Paper Pumpkin alternative card ideas are a great way to continue creating after you have made the projects included in your kit.

The June Bikes & Blooms Paper Pumpkin Kit included three cheerful card designs, along with a versatile stamp set and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Spot that can be used well beyond the original projects.

Although the June kit has already been sent, this is a good time to look at what you can do with the supplies once your kit cards are finished. With just a few note cards, some twine and embellishments, I created a collection of simple monochromatic cards using the stamp set from the kit.

Making the Bikes & Blooms Paper Pumpkin Kit

One of the lovely things about Paper Pumpkin is that the projects are prepared and ready for you to enjoy. The card bases, decorative pieces, stamps, ink, twine and embellishments all coordinate, so you do not need to spend time deciding which colours or products work together.

The Bikes & Blooms Kit made nine cards in three different designs. Each one featured colourful bicycles, baskets of flowers and cheerful sentiments such as “Best wishes”, “Thank you” and “Have a lovely day”.

The printed instructions show you where to place the different pieces, along with the stamping and embellishments. You can make the cards exactly as shown, change the greetings to suit the occasions you need, or add your own little touches.

These kits are especially helpful when you want some relaxing creative time without needing to plan a project from the beginning.

Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas Using the Stamp Set

After making the original cards, I wanted to see what else I could create using the stamp set and Calypso Coral ink included in the kit.

I added Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes, linen thread and a few embellishments. By keeping everything in Calypso Coral, the cards have a simple monochromatic look while still offering plenty of variety.

For one card, I stamped the bicycle near the bottom and added flowers along the top edge. A Calypso Coral layer helped frame the design, while a few pearl embellishments added a subtle finishing touch.

Another card features butterflies floating across the card front. I wrapped linen thread around the stamped panel and tied it in a bow before adding the greeting. It is a simple design, but the twine and embellishments give it a little extra detail.

For the third design, I used part of one of the original kit card bases as a background strip. I stamped flowers over it in Calypso Coral, then added butterflies and a sentiment to the white section below. This is a useful way to make the most of spare kit pieces or card bases.

In the video, I show the three original Bikes & Blooms projects before creating the alternative note cards. I also share a few tips for using the Paper Pumpkin Stampin’ Spot, creating a coloured cardstock border with ink and getting more use from the stamps included in the kit.

Even if you did not receive this particular kit, you could adapt these ideas using floral, butterfly or bicycle stamps already in your collection.

Keep Using Your Paper Pumpkin Supplies

The projects inside the box are only the beginning. Each Paper Pumpkin kit helps you build a collection of stamps and ink colours that you can continue using with cardstock and supplies you already own.

Note cards are particularly useful to keep on hand because they include matching envelopes and are a lovely size for quick cards. Add a stamped panel, a greeting and a few finishing touches, and you can create a useful collection of cards without needing lots of additional products.

Once you have finished your kit projects, take another look at the stamp set and see what else you could create. These Paper Pumpkin alternative card ideas are a simple way to enjoy your supplies for longer and have more handmade cards ready to send.
