Today’s card is a poppies Simple Stamping Card. It features the Peaceful Poppies set, but rather than lots of Poppy Parade red on the card like yesterday’s card, this one is dominated by the colour Mossy Meadow with just a little Poppy Parade as an accent.
The card is a Simple Card because it was made only with stamps, ink and cardstock. However, for my card I cut out the middle panel with the Stitched Rectangle dies using a die cutting machine. That is why you see the stitched line bordering it. To make the card a proper Simple Card, or if you don’t have the dies or a die cutting machine, you can cut out the rectangle with a paper trimmer and then draw the lines on with a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Marker.
The leaves in the background were stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I then used my Aqua Painter to very carefully spread some of the ink from the stamp to colour in the leaf. I made sure my Aqua Painter wasn’t too wet, as water is not good for cardstock. However, you can get away with it, if you are very careful!
The poppy outline flower was stamped in Memento black ink, and the solid flower was then stamped in Poppy Parade ink over the top. There is a die you can use to cut the flower out, but I don’t have the dies yet, so instead I fussy cut it with my Paper Snips.
There is also a coordinating sentiment stamp set – Peaceful Moments from the Peaceful Poppies suite. This stamp set has a Thank You stamp, but as I don’t have that stamp yet either, I used the Thank You from the Tropical Chic stamp set, which I already have.
I made 15 of this card for a team swap. I got to keep one of mine and also received 14 other cards made by demonstrators using different products from the new Mini Catalogue. This is a great way for me to have lots of different cards on display for my customers at my new catalogue Open Home Event. The card I made was inspired by a creation by Su Mohr.
I hope you liked today’s poppies Simple Stamping card.
