Spot the Difference: Thoughtful Journey Suite Cards

By | 21 July 2024

Here are two very similar cards made using the thoughtful journey Suite. They feature the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper [DSP] and the Thoughtful Wishes bundle – a stamp and die set. There’s only a subtle difference between the two cards. Can you spot it?

The stamped and die-cut images on the card on the left are on Basic White cardstock. On the card on the right, these images are also on Basic White cardstock but they have been sponged with Mossy Meadow ink using a Blending Brush to soften the look, so it isn’t so white. Which card do you prefer?

Initially, I preferred the sponged version, but upon further consideration, I actually like the one with Basic White cardstock and no sponging.

For the DSP background panel, I used half a sheet of the 6″x 6″ Thoughtful Journey DSP. By using half a sheet, I can make two cards from one sheet. These cards are matted with Crushed Curry cardstock. I later realized the yellow color in the DSP is actually Wild Wheat, not Crushed Curry, but I think the Crushed Curry still works well.

I stamped the leafy image in Mossy Meadow ink and used a Blender Pen to color the inside of the leaves. For the other flowers and leaves, I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the flowers with Crushed Curry and the leaves and stems with Mossy Meadow.

These cards are a step up from the ones I shared yesterday, particularly with the added stamping and die-cuts. you can see yesterday’s card here.

Here are the supplies I used.

Here is same card, but with Petunia Pop matting since the DSP has a touch of pink in it.
