Use a simple Card Sketch to get you started when you have no idea what type of card to make. Here are three wonderful cards that I have created from one Sketch. The first card is very basic, but then I have stepped up the other two cards with layers and/or embellishments. I have used the Favored Flower Designer Series Paper [DSP] for all three cards. This is paper is available for free during Sale-A-Bration until 28th February 2023.
This is the simple Card Sketch I created and used to make my cards:
The first card uses the measurements as stated in the Sketch. The only thing that I have done a little differently on the card in the photo below is to cut the right side of the sentiment at an angle.
This second card, with a Calypso Coral card base, has an extra layer of Basic Black cardstock behind each piece of the DSP. The cardstock uses the measurements as shown in the Sketch. The DSP is cut half a centimetre smaller, so that means the background DSP piece is 9.5cm x 13.8cm and the main flower DSP piece is 4.5cm x 11.5cm. I have also matted the sentiment with Basic Black cardstock, but the stamped piece is a little shorter than the measurement above, so it fits the sentiment better. I have also sponged the background of the sentiment a little with some Calypso Coral ink and a Blending Brush to soften the white on the front of the card.
The final card, with the Blackberry Bliss coloured DSP, has an extra layer around the flowery piece of DSP and sentiment. I have added some Crinkled Seam Binding and some Gold Simple Elegant Trim. The sentiment is cut out with the Double Oval punch. I have also added some Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Here are the supplies I used to make these cards.
Why not give this simple Card Sketch a try with some of the DSP that you have? You can keep it simple or add layers.
