Thursday’s Tip: Two-Toned Stamping – Two Colours On One Stamp!

By | 9 May 2019

Simple stamping involves inking your stamp with an ink pad and then stamping it onto your card. But what if you could do some two-toned stamping by adding two colours onto the same stamp? How about two shades of green on a leaf, or two different colours on a flower? Wouldn’t that look lovely? Well, now you can with the help of Sponge Daubers.

Check out the card above. The flowers are blue and purple. This is done using the Balmy Blue and Highland Heather ink. Notice that the leaves above feature two shades of green. This is done using Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce ink.

You may be wondering how to get the two different colours on a single stamp without messing up your ink pads and getting other colours mixed in.

The answer is to use Sponge Daubers! These daubers can be used for two-toned stamping, but can also be used in other ways for different projects.

I keep one dauber for each colour. They fit nicely on the end of your finger too, so that you can control them easily.

Every week, I try to share a tip on Thursday. Did you miss seeing last week’s tip on how to make gift bags? You can check it out here.

Is there anything that you would like to know how to do, or perhaps you are wondering how to use a particular crafting tool? If you have any questions or requests, please email me and let me know. I may be able to answer your question and feature it in a future Thursday’s Tip. If you have a question, someone else may have the same question too. I’ll do my best to help. I look forward to hearing from you.

Lastly, if you like the card that I featured today, I will share more about it tomorrow. It features the floating frame technique. I taught it in my classes last month. Come back tomorrow to see what I used to make that card.
